Yardanite is the traditional point along the Jordan River where Jesus is thought to have been baptized by John the Baptist (Mathew 3:13-17). The location is on the river bank just before the river flows into the Sea of Galilee. The site has been made accessible to visitors, with the addition of a Visitors Center. The Wall of New Life is a wall which runs from the site entrance to the shores of the Jordan, along the wall the story of Jesus’ baptism is written in several languages. Anyone is welcome to be baptized at this holy site but they are required to wear a traditional white robe which can be purchased or rented at the site.
