Tel Megiddo  is a small hill in northern Israel, and a UNESCO site, which looks down upon Jezreel Valley, once a major trade route which ran from Egypt to Assyria. Due to its strategic position the Tel was the site of many ancient settlements which have now been excavated. 26 layers of ruins were discovered on the Tel which was once a City-State. You may know Megiddo as Armageddon, the Biblical site of several battles.
