The Old City market runs through the Muslim Quarter along covered alley ways and narrow pedestrian streets. The stores on either side of the lanes sell both traditional and contemporary items. At the “shuk” the buyer is expected to haggle and bargain for a good price and the market is an excellent place to sample fresh local produce. Goods are displayed hanging from store fronts and Middle Eastern music fills the air together with the smell of oriental spices and foods.
