Haifa is the largest city in northern Israel, it is a port city with a natural bay on Israel’s Mediterranean coast. The city is built on the slopes of Mount Carmel which faces the sea. Haifa Bay is a vital part of the Israeli economy with cargo arriving from across the globe, the city is also home to Haifa University. Haifa’s top attraction is the Bah’ai Gardens which cascades down Mount Camel in 18 terraces and the Shrine of the Bab, one of the faiths most holy sites. Haifa has several outstanding museums including a world class Science Museum and the city is the gateway to the north and to the beautiful green Carmel Mountains.
